This is my second Kent hairbrush the first was a gift I liked it so much I want to purchase more as gifts though I’d order the smaller size for my purse it’s also exceptional in quality I use a light essential oil rubbed on my hair at night and these brushes distribute the oils well, I have med fine hairThis is a replacement for the identical item which has lasted many years. I can't tell if this one will be as long lasting, but it looks, feels, and acts the same as its predecessor. The predecessor finally developed a crack in the rubbery material which holds the bristles and was starting to loose bristles occasionally. I was surprised and relieved to see that the brush is still made.I like this particular model of the Kent brush line because of its broad oval shape. The wood ones are beautiful but not available in the shape I prefer.I am in my 70s and have shoulder length thinning hair which is also coarse and naturally curly, and this brush works well for me. I do try to remember to brush my hair twice a day to distribute the oils, but I'm not as scrupulous about it as I should be!I generally just wash the brush a few times a year - whenever the bristles show signs of soil. If it lasts as long as the previous one, maybe I'll update the review to 5 stars!Wow, just wow! I was wondering before I received it, "how will I know if this is a good brush or not, since all of the previous brushes I bought made similar claims", so I can tell you that I was pleasantly surprised to see my own hair react the way it did once I started brushing it with this specific brush, I was amazed!!! :DIt was pretty pricey to me, however now I understand why. This brush is hard!!! I guess it's all relative but it is not soft from my experience with many boars hair brushes this one is REALLY hard. The bristles felt harder than the prongs on my Denman brush as it relates to the thin bristles. I was expecting something a little firmer than a baby brush and got what should be a fabric brush. All grumbling aside, the brush is relatively well designed for someone with a lot of brushing to do as far as ergonomics. I liked the way the handle fit in my hand when I took it out of the box. I was disappointed because when I inspected the brush there was a big hole on the top as if it was a casting hole or something. I thought it could have at least be sealed and buffed out. I think this brush is tooo rough for fine fragile hair. Unless your hair is super straight, it will most likely remove as much hair as it removes dirt. I have bought cheaper brushes at Sally's that are SUPPOSED to be boars hair for significantly less and significantly softer. If you have even a little bit of bend in your fine hair, I do not recommend this brush. For the quality over all, I dont think this brush is worth nearly $75.Honestly, not the quality I normally expect from Kent. It works, but the plastic handle feels flimsy. I worry that it's going to break off in my hand. Considering the price, I'm not sure why it couldn't have a better handle, like my suit brush.Have been using this Kent boar hair brush for quite some time now. The BEST hair brush!!! You will feel the difference not only to your hair, but to your scalp as well. It feels WONDERFUL!!! It's like a hair & scalp massage. I look forward to brushing my hair (long) & tangles can just be gently brushed out. Purchased one for my husband & he ACTUALLY brushes his hair now (as opposed to just combing) because he said it feels like a scalp massage. Cleaning instructions: Use shampoo & DO NOT soak this hair brush. Dry bristles down. Made: England.I am a older woman with thinning hair and I wish I had bought this brush 10 years ago. It is fantastic and well worth the money. I will get another one for travel in case of loss since I refuse to be without it!!! So, go girls, get one!!! I’m serious !I was really excited to own this expensive hairbrush. First few days that I used it all seemed to be all that I read in other users claims but . . .after the 6th day, I noticed some bristles coming out even though I was very careful in removing the loose hairs entwined in it. I'm now reluctant to keep using it as I had planned on doing because more bristles will eventually come out. I'm disappointed that such an expensive imported item did not have better quality in their workmanship. I decided to buy another boar bristle hairbrush at less than half of what I paid for this one. Haven't received it yet but the manufacturer claims this hairbrush to be a more heavy duty for my long thinning hair. Time will tell. This is just the right size. I’m really glad I didn’t opt for the medium one. The bristles are gentle. I feared they might be a bit scratchy. I can’t say I’ve noticed any significant improvement to the condition of my hair but it’s early days yet. This brush doesn’t give as good a scalp massage as other brushes I’ve tried. The comb is useful to clean the brush. My previous nylon hairbrush cost about a third of the price of this one. I am not yet convinced the additional cost of this one is worth it.This is my second purchase. My hair is fair and fine but I've lots of it. My hair is in 100% better condition since I have been using this type of hairbrush. I use it first/last thing in the morning/night and it never breaks my hair even when it's tangled and or knotted. I then use a bristle/nylon brush to get through to my scalp as I like that feeling. Would never go back to just nylon or plastic hairbrushes now. Ever. The quality of finish of this brush and the packaging are excellent, as is the fact that it comes with a little comb for taking the hair out of your brush. The only thing that makes me unsure about whether I want to use this brush now that I have bought it is that although it is meant for fine hair, (which I have), it doesn't brush through my hair easily. It seems like when I brush my hair through after blowdrying, this brush makes my hair very static and flattens it down to my head at the same time, which doesn't look great! As it is specifically designed for fine hair I was quite disappointed with this. It is quite a lot of money to pay for a product that doesn't really do what it says. After 21 years I needed to replace my hairbrush, my old brush is a Mason Pearson and I loved it ,BUT, being a bit skint these days I opted for this Kent brush, it arrived this morning as I was about to wash my hair ( it was manky !) So I thought I'd brush it before I washed it.It has twice as many bristles as my old brush (my old MP brush still has all it's bristles despite its age but was definitely made with far less bristles ) so initially I found it difficult to get the Kent brush through my hair, but I took small sections and made sure the bristles touched my scalp each time I brushed to distribute the oil at the roots downward , WELL IMPRESSED! So impressed that I actually don't need to wash it now, my roots look freshly washed , and the lengths are shiny and smooth , a bit more effort required to section and brush, but I didn't need to wash it so I saved time overall, oh, and apart from the time saving aspect , my hair looks glorious, thankyouI liked the product however the vat and postage and package made it a very very expensive brush which I was not aware at purchase till I got an email with total amount.
